Description of Kenwood KP-102 Electric Food Mill
The Kenwood KP-102 unique electric fruit and vegetable mill is ideal for making soups, preserves, baby foods, and sauces and for pureeing all soft-cooked fruits and vegetables.The nondegradable stainless steel compression plate adds durability and strength.
A food mill earns its place in a well-equipped kitchen by providing far more control over food texture than does a food processor, blender, or mixer. Hand-cranked mills, however, can be balky, a problem Kenwood solves by electrifying the machine. With this mill, all it takes is a push of a button to purée tomato sauce, produce smooth or chunky apple sauce, cream cauliflower soup, create fresh baby food, and mash potatoes without creating a starchy mess. While some plastic mills can be flimsy, this one is sturdy: it's made of thick heat- and impact-resistant plastic. The blade and three discs (each with different-size screens) are stainless steel and retain their sharp edges indefinitely; the bowl snaps into place and releases with the push of two buttons on the handgrip. A plastic spatula comes with the mill. Bowl, blades, discs, and spatula are dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack
